April 26.
2 days in Pitlochry with mum and Rob.
We started with coffee & cake and lovely conversation, mum chatted re her reflections of parenting us and I read her out some of the life story Rob and I had written, she said it was meaningful hearing what I had written about her as a mum!! That was a really lovely connected time which set the tone for the whole time.
A peacefully slow time, many memories being ignited particularly on Tummel Avenue where mum grew up, and the walk by the round walk to see the dam, the salmon, the suspension bridge, the big rock in the river where mum and friends would hang out, the gloriously still Loch Faskally. Rob biked a huge route whilst we walked and then we stayed in the Moulin Inn (where mum and dad spent the first night of their honeymoon). It is quirky and lovely , rooms steeped in history looking out on to the hills and the field full of lambs. Glorious, just really glorious. I enjoyed a run up to the loch below Ben y Vrackie and then a fab run back downhill first thing on the second day. Then it was a trip to see the falls of Bruar. A special time, I love my mum!
